HuskyCT Transition to Cloud Services

HuskyCT is now available, however restoration of Winter Intersession courses is still processing.  Some Winter Intersession courses are available.  If your course is not yet showing in HuskyCT, please check back later this evening (January 1, 2017).

Why is HuskyCT moving to a cloud-based solution?

A Cloud-based Learning Management System allows us to benefit from continuous updates (new features, enhancements, fixes, etc.) with zero or minimal downtime.

Does the transition impact my ability to activate courses for HuskyCT?

No. Instructors can activate courses in the Student Administration System (aka PeopleSoft) throughout the transition timeline.  Spring courses activated after 12:00 pm on 12/23/2016 will not be available in HuskyCT until after 1:00 pm on 1/1/2017.

Does the transition impact my ability to request course restores or section combines?

No. Instructors can request course restores and/or section combines using the form throughout the transition timeline. However, requests received after 12:00 pm on 12/23/2016 will not be processed until the week of 1/2/2017.

Does the transition impact my ability to request non-class sites?

No. Instructors can request non-class sites using the form throughout the transition timeline. However, requests received after 12:00 pm on 12/23/2016 will not be processed until the week of 1/2/2017.

Does the transition impact the ability to work on my Winter 2017 course site(s)?

No. You may continue working on your Winter 2017 course sites throughout the transition. The only downtime for Winter intersession will be on January 1, 2017 between 5:00 am and 1:00 pm.  During this window, your Winter 2017 course site(s) will be coped to the new environment.

Does the transition impact students finishing incomplete course work for Winter 2017 in HuskyCT?

No. Since the transition will occur prior to the last day of Winter intersession, students finishing incomplete work will not be impacted..

When is the last day I can work on my Spring 2017 course site(s) prior to the transition?

You may continue working on your Spring 2017 course sites until 11:59 pm on 12/25/2016.  Activity can be resumed in the new environment after 1:00 pm on 1/1/2017.

Does the transition impact students finishing incomplete course work for Fall 2016 in HuskyCT?

It depends. If the student finishes their incomplete work prior to 11:59 pm on 12/25/2016, they will not be impacted by the transition.  If additional work needs to be completed after that time, the student can resume working in HuskyCT after 1:00 pm on 1/1/2017.

Does the transition impact non-class/organization sites?

Yes.  Instructors/Leaders and Students/Participants can work in non-class/organization sites until 11:59 pm on 12/25/2016.  Activity can be resumed in the new environment after 1:00 pm on 1/1/2017.

Do students need to be notified of the transition?

Students finishing incomplete course work for Fall 2016 should be made be aware of the transition. The transition will be seamless for all other students.

Fall 2016 students with incomplete course work after 11:59 pm on 12/25/2016, will need to finish working in their HuskyCT courses after 1:00 pm on 1/1/2017.
